Providing Fractional Business Intelligence for Law Firms
Why should your firm hire a Fractional Business Intelligence Analyst?
I specialize in connecting legal tools like Filevine with financial systems like QuickBooks, using best practices proven to streamline billing and trust accounting.
Strategic BI support at a fraction of the cost of hiring a full-time analyst or building an internal data team, with the flexibility to scale up or down as needs change.
Focus on making dashboards simple, visual, and actionable so attorneys can quickly understand the story in the data and act on it.
What I Do
Design and maintain an end-to-end pipeline that securely connects Filevine and QuickBooks to Domo, so your key metrics update automatically instead of relying on manual spreadsheets.
Build role-specific dashboards for partners, practice group leaders, attorneys, and paralegals and assign personalized data permissions (PDP) so each stakeholder has clear visibility into the numbers that matter most.
Provide ongoing fractional support (weekly or monthly) to refine metrics, add new views, and answer “can we see…?” questions as your firm’s needs evolve.
Problems Solved
Fragmented data between case management (Filevine) and accounting (QuickBooks) that makes it hard to answer basic questions about profitability, realization, and cash flow.
Time-consuming manual reporting that ties up high-value staff in data pulls, reconciliations, and spreadsheet gymnastics.
Lack of real-time visibility for leadership, forcing decisions to be made on outdated or incomplete information.
Outcomes
Firm-wide dashboard showing fees, WIP, A/R, and trust balances by matter, attorney, and practice area, updated automatically from QuickBooks and Filevine.
Operational views that track cycle times, bottlenecks, and staff utilization across your Filevine workflows, helping improve throughput and client service.
Scheduled Domo reports emailed to partners and administrators with current KPIs, so everyone sees the same trusted numbers each week or month.
Time savings
My role is to convert the time your firm spends gathering data into time spent practicing law and serving clients.
Every dashboard I build is designed to remove a recurring manual report or spreadsheet from someone’s to-do list.
The outcome is not just better visibility, but dozens of hours per month returned to your team without adding headcount.
Staff no longer export, clean, and merge data from Filevine and QuickBooks to build monthly reports, saving many hours of administrative time per cycle.
Partners and practice leaders stop “hunting” for numbers in email threads and spreadsheets and instead open Domo to see up-to-date KPIs in minutes, not hours.
Routine questions (“What’s collections by attorney this month?”, “Which matters are over budget?”) are answered self-service in Domo, reducing interruptions and report requests to your admin team.
